How to collect on Valt

Valt is in its testnet preview: collecting uses free test ADA on Cardano’s pre-production network (Preprod), not real money. It takes about five minutes the first time, and you never leave Valt to do it.

1. Get a Cardano wallet

   Install Lace or Eternl as a browser extension on desktop, and create a wallet. Write down your recovery phrase and keep it private. Valt never asks for it.

2. Switch it to Preprod

   In the wallet’s settings, change the network to Preprod (Lace: Settings, Network. Eternl: the network menu at the top). Your address will now start with addr_test.

3. Get free test ADA

   Copy your wallet address, open the Cardano testnet faucet, choose Preprod, paste the address and request test ADA. It arrives in a minute or two, and it’s more than enough to collect.

Then collect

1. Open any song and press Play to listen.
2. Choose how many editions you want (up to 5) and press Collect. If your wallet isn’t connected yet, Valt asks you to pick it.
3. Your wallet opens one approval showing the price, the editions coming to you and the network fee. Check it and sign. One signature covers every edition in the order.
4. Valt shows Confirming on Cardano. In about a minute your editions are in your wallet, with a link to the transaction.

Payment and delivery happen in the same transaction: you either receive your editions or nothing is spent.

Some older songs still use our previous checkout: their button reads Collect with ADA and opens NMKR Pay, where you connect the same Preprod wallet and confirm. Those editions arrive a few minutes later.

Open the artist’s Valt

1. Once the collect confirms, press Open the Valt, or go to the artist’s page.
2. If the Valt still looks locked, use Sync Wallet on your dashboard, then refresh.
3. The Valt opens, with everything that artist has put inside for holders.

Good to know

• What leaves your wallet: the edition price, network and service fees (about 1.2 test ADA per edition), and about 1.2 test ADA per edition that travels with the token. Cardano requires every token to carry a little ADA, so that part stays in your wallet with your edition.
• Only Preprod wallets work right now. If you connect a mainnet wallet, Valt disconnects it, because your editions live on the test network.
• Phones: open Valt inside your wallet app’s built-in browser so the wallet can sign: VESPR (tested on Android) or another wallet with an in-app browser. A regular mobile browser can’t reach your wallet; a desktop browser with the extension is the most reliable.
• Declined by mistake? Nothing was charged. Press Collect again.
